Norland moves teaching online and puts practical training on hold until the end of June
24 March 2020
Norland has moved its teaching online and put practical classes and placements on hold until the end of June, in line with direct government instructions in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.
The health and wellbeing of students, staff, placement partners, families and friends remains Norland’s top priority. The college remains operational and there are no plans to close. Operations continue to be moved online and all staff are now working remotely; all essential services remain in operation. The two college sites will move to restricted access provision from the end of Tuesday 24 March at 5pm.
Norland has moved all degree teaching and learning online until the end of the June. All practical classes and student placements for the Norland Diploma are currently on hold and contingency plans and adjustments have been put in place. To date students are being given relevant support, teaching and learning and the system is working well.
The college continues to monitor the situation closely and will continue to keep the Norland community updated. Please visit our coronavirus update webpage for the latest information.
Dr Janet Rose, Principal, said: “These are extraordinary times and we are taking extraordinary measures to ensure all members of our community are safe. The health and wellbeing of our students and staff is our overriding priority but we are being mindful of how we can ensure our students progress and succeed with their studies whilst maintaining our high standards.”
