Biography
Penny has a strong background in health and nutrition, holding a BSc (Hons) in Sports and Exercise Science, an MSc in Nutrition in Practice and is a Registered Associate Nutritionist with the AfN specialising in dietary policy and its impact on early childhood development.
Combining her experience as a classically trained Head Chef and as a Teacher in the private sector and a Lecturer in Further Education, she brings together culinary expertise and nutritional knowledge to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences that emphasise the importance of wellness and sustainability.
Her research interests lie at the intersection of public health policy, childhood nutrition, and structural inequality, with a particular focus on how historical and sociopolitical forces shape nutritional outcomes for children.

"Too much of a good thing? Parental Perceptions vs. Nutritional Reality in toddler cow's milk consumption"This PRISMA literature review formed Penny's master's dissertation, and was presented at the Norland Research Conference 2025. Penny explained the approach she took to the PRISMA review, as well as the themes, problems and strengths of the literature on this topic.
