Kate Sheppard FdA, Norland Diploma - Newly Qualified Nanny Manager

Kate Sheppard joined Norland as Newly Qualified Nanny (NQN) Manager in 2024. Kate is a Norlander and graduated from Norland in 2004. She was Head Nurse during her time at the college, later returning to Norland to study for a foundation degree in Early Years in 2008. Since graduating, Kate has worked in a range of nurseries, schools and preschools as well as caring for children in her own home as a mother.

Most recently, Kate held a position as special educational needs coordinator, supporting children and families to fully access education opportunities, before moving on to manage a preschool for two years.

Kate’s role involves managing the NQN team, preparing students for their roles as Newly Qualified Nannies and then supporting and assessing NQNs as they embark on the final stage of their journeys to become fully qualified Norland Nannies.
