Accommodation in the beautiful, historic and vibrant university city of Bath

Norland does not have its own accommodation. You’ll live in a shared student house in the city of Bath, enabling you to immerse yourself in student life outside of Norland training and learn essential life skills.

When you’re offered a place at Norland, we’ll ask you if you’d like us to help you find your first-year accommodation. Occasionally, if there is a spare room in one of the first-year houses, we may offer it out to a Norland student from another year group or a student from another university.

All accommodation sourced by us is within walking distance or a bus ride from Norland. All bedrooms are furnished with a bed, desk, drawers and a wardrobe.

Accommodation contracts are strictly between you and the letting agent or landlord. Contracts are from September. The duration of contracts is typically 51 weeks. The rent for first-year accommodation is in the table below.

Please also note that first-year landlords will require a UK homeowner guarantor to secure accommodation. For UK students, this will usually be a parent or guardian. If you are an international student or you do not have a UK homeowner guarantor, please contact the admissions team.

Your relationship with your landlord

Student accommodation is unlikely to be at the same standard as your home, so think about bringing some home comforts to make your room feel cosy and familiar – for example, you could bring things such as lights, throws and photos.

We try to place all those who would like accommodation with other first-year Norland students in a house which has been visited and checked against our suitability checklist by a member of staff. Whilst we try to ensure that all houses are suitable for our first-year students, occasionally some minor remedial work may be necessary after you have moved in. Norland will support you in your communication with the landlord to ensure any works needed are completed swiftly and to the appropriate standard.

Please note that Norland chooses the houses in good faith but we do not have any control over issues that may arise once you have signed your contract. We will liaise with the landlord on your behalf if necessary. Student accommodation in Bath is in great demand and it is usually not possible for us to find you other accommodation if you are dissatisfied with the allocated room.

By asking us to find accommodation for you, you are accepting that you will be legally bound to the Assured Tenancy Agreement between you and the landlord when you sign it, and Norland will usually not be able to find you alternative accommodation. Tenancy agreements will be joint and several for all accommodation.

You are, of course, at liberty to seek your own accommodation, if you so wish. However, once you have signed the contract, you are responsible for the rent due to the landlord for the duration of the contract.
